Hi, Many of you search the web regularly for new properties on Roatan and I wanted to warn you of one I found that is NOT a real development. The web site is called Emerald Reef Resort and it is a very slick site showing a satellite photo of the property and artist renderings of high rise condos, beach condos, valley condos and a marina. The site offers visitors the option to put down $1,000 as a reservation on a condo. When I saw the site I recognized the land and realized, I know the owner, so I called him to ask about it and he was shocked to know that someone was advertising a development on his property!
This web site is advertising properties that they have no rights or options to develop and sell. Even if they had options on the land they have no environmental permits or municipal permits to start any construction. Please remember to thoroughly check out all properties you see advertised on the web and if you need help with that task, it’s my job.
